SA5060 Debubbling agent for powder coatings on porous substrates

1. Description:

Wax additives, also known as surface modifiers, can provide many surface effects in a wide range of applications. Powder coatings present unique challenges to the formulator that requires innovative wax additives to meet those requirements. Powder coating wax additives are used to improve the fluidization, antistatic properties and degassing during powder coating application and cure. They can also affect mechanical properties such as slip and impact resistance and aesthetic effects, including matting and texturing.

Kabasph has developed a number of unique wax additives to protect a high-gloss powder coating surface from abrasion damage without impacting the gloss or inducing haze in the coating. Processing aids based on wax additives are available to enhance the powder feeding process during spray application, minimize static effects, and enhance degassing properties over varying metal surfaces. SA500 is a micro wax based slip and degassing agent developed especially for powder coatings, which can be used as a slip promoter or a substitute of benzoin in various coating system.

3. Characteristics:

• SA5060 is a high performance debubbling agent used in a broad range of powder coatings based on TGIC, HAA, Hybrid, Epoxy, PU and Polyacrylate.

• Generally it is recommended to be used in powder coatings on porous substrates such as cast iron, cast aluminum alloys etc.

•  Less pinholes, bubbles and craters.

• Better effect can be obtained by post-addition.

•  Improve leveling.

• Premix SA5060 with other components of the formula before extrusion.

• As a free flowing-white powder it can also be used by dry blend

• The use level is 0.5- 1.5% by total weight of formula.

7. Package & Storage

• Packaging with PE lined Kraft paper bags. Net weight 20kg per bag.

• Store in temperature between 2-32℃ or cool and dry place. Keep package closed after using. Keep away from heat and fire.

• Based on our experience the shelf life of this product under above conditions is at least 2 years.
