SA580 Matting agent for durable carboxyl functional polyester powder coatings

1. Description:

Acrylic resins are used as additives to promote improved flow and leveling as well as enhanced stain and chemical resistance in polyester hybrid, polyester TGIC, and polyurethane powder coatings. Unlike standard flow aids, these reactive materials provide improvements in film properties by crosslinking into the powder coating polymer backbone. 

SA580 is a glycidyl containing solid acrylic resin designed for applying in exterior durable carboxyl functional polyester powder coatings to provide low gloss of <5%(60°) and excellent weather-resistance.

3. Characteristics:

SA580 can be mixed with various carboxyl functional polyester resins to formulate matte, one shot and exterior durable polyester powder coatings with low gloss of <10%(60°).

The gloss can be adjusted by replacing part of SA580 with TGIC or HAA.

Some cure catalysts such as 2-phenyl-imidazoline and quaternary ammonium salts may improve coatings mechanical and surface performance in SA580system.

Premix SA580 with other components of the formula before extrusion.

Recommend to design formula by weight parts of 75/25 [resin to SA580] for pure polyester resin with AV ca.34mg KOH/g.

7.Package & Storage

Packing with PE lined Kraft paper bags. Net weight 25kg per bag.

Store in temperature between 2-32℃ or cool dry place to avoid wetting-absorption. Keep package closed after using. Keep away from heat and fire.

Based on our experience the shelf life of this product under above conditions is at least 2 years.
