K7212 Matting agent for polyester powder coatings

1. Description:

Matting agent is an additive added to powder coating formulations to reduce the gloss of the coating film. It creates a rough microscopic coating surface through the compatibility difference between the matting agent and other base materials.

Klarint®  K7212 is a synthetic resin based matting agent designed for applying in exterior PES/TGIC powder coatings with excellent flow and weather-resistance.

3. Characteristics:

• With proper resin, it can provide 10% (60°)or less of gloss (suggested to choose slow curing polyester, should

not be used alone with fast curing polyester)

• Fine and smooth surface.

• Good stability for baking, recommended to use on anti-yellowing condition.

• Outstanding mechanical properties, much better scratch/friction resistance than PE/GMA matting system.

• Outstanding gloss stability and reproducibility, satisfy wide ranges of extrusion processing.

• Premix K7212 with other components of the formula before extrusion.

• The use level is 2-6% by weight based on total formula,depends on the gloss required.

7. Package & Storage

• Packaging with PE lined Kraft paper bag. Net weight 25kg per bag.

• Store in temperature between 2-32℃ or cool dry place. Keep away from heat and fire.

• Based on our experience the shelf life of this product under above conditions is at least 2 years.

8. Advisement:

• When formulating K7212, the gloss of coating will be determined by its concentration and the selected polyester resins. It is important to select matched resins

• Fillers which can accelerate curing may worsen leveling or result in higher gloss.
